Aziz Askin - Chiropractor
Hey, I’m Aziz.
Most Chiropractor’s website bios have a miracle story that got them into the profession. For me, I missed that boat.
All I knew was I wanted to help people in some way, shape or form. I was always interested in health, sports and fitness growing up so this steered me towards healthcare. Going to Otago University in 2009, I began with the First Year Health Sciences course with an open vision toward what I wanted to become. I began to lean towards becoming an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon), but quickly realised, I don’t like needles nor that red stuff that can leak from the body. So I knew I needed to do something that involved peoples body’s being intact.
In my second semester, I attended a seminar on Chiropractic and what Chiropractors do and immediately thought “Yeap, that’s me”. And, the rest is history.
After graduating from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and beginning practice in 2015, I have worked in multiple practices across Australia and New Zealand. Fortunately for me, working in such a variety of practices meant working with lots of different Chiropractors all with different techniques. I took every opportunity to learn new techniques and really expand and refine my own skills to what they have become today.
As a Chiropractor, I look at the body as a whole, not just a spine. To me, the joints in to your hand are as important as the joints in your neck. The nerves in your feet are as important as your spinal cord. So I aim to optimise every part of the body.
But, structure, alignment and nerve function are only a few pieces of the puzzle.
Nutrition, exercise, stress management, emotional and spiritual wellbeing all play a role too.
By working with you, we will create a specific care plan with the goal of optimising every aspect of your health.
